This place is always full so I strongly recommend to anyone who wants to go there to make a reservation.
I went on sunday to find out that they have a special menu. The food is tasty and definitely a good option when you are looking for something different to try
2 Bao and a small glass of beer for 19.5 euro. I’m happy to pay more for great food and service, but sadly, I haven’t seen such things here.
First, the table I was sitting at was uncleaned with fried chicken crumbs, I had to clean myself. I haven’t got good service either. An Italian family came later than me got their drinks earlier than me. Moreover, the waitress put food on my table abruptly without saying anything. Cutlery provided on request, and the fork looked dirty, I dared not to use.
Food flavour was okay, but the portion is too small compared with the price (8 euro for one). Maybe they provided other good foods, but only Bao was served today.
We spent a few days exploring beautiful Trieste and enjoying a local cuisine, but at some point, we were craving for some fried chicken and burgers. We were so happy to discover this place! The place itself has a really cool vibe, the staff is so cool and attentive. The menu is quite interesting, you will find Asian specialties, sandwiches with “Italian Nonna” twist, but since we were craving fried chicken and burger, we went with chicken waffle and burger with bacon, peanuts and banana (my husband really wanted to try this one).
Let me say that the chicken waffle was one of the BEST things I have ever tasted in my life! The flavors were SPOT ON! Initially I asked for some spicy sauce on the side, but gave up as I didn’t want to mess up the flavor, it was sooo perfect! My husband also loved his (banana peanut) burger, it was such a crazy combination, it tasted amazing!
The owner is a really awesome guy, you can tell how much he loves what he does, and he even gave us his home made ketchup to try - we can’t wait to come back to Trieste and try more stuff from the menu and get more of that ketchup!
AVOID!! Got here sunday at 2.30, was left 15 min to be asked for drinks, although servers came by several times. Got menu written on paper, menu from page is not avaliable. Out of 8 dishes only 4 avaliable, no prices on the menu. Food is OK, portions small, when we finished got charged my card for my food and other table. After discussing they gave me back money for other peoples food, its good i checked invoice. When i saw invoice, saw prices are crazy especially regarding size portions. Wouldnt recommend wouldnt return!
Creative cooking (the Wednesday ramen night is not to be missed), yummy ingredients, laid-back atmosphere and nice service. I've had ramen in big cities -London, Amsterdam - but this is something else, a place with really unique flavours and recipes (an Italian inspired ramen that was like an edgy, awesome grandma's comfort soup, wow!). Never change ❣️
I ordered a chicken salad and it was literally it - leaves and chicken. I was expecting more veggies, some addition, croutons, whatever, but they took it literally :D not really worth 10 or 11 euros, can't remember now. My boyfriend got ramen which had a lot of fatty pieces of bacon or something, for 15 euros.
Well. If you've got the money and you're not too fussy then I guess go for it. For a plus it was fresh and a quick service.
Very particular place, very interesting dishes, you can’t find anything similar to this in Trieste, the chicken there tastes amazing and it doesn’t have anything weird inside like bones or pieces of skin, just tasty meat
The food was really good and at a really fair price. For that alone, this place really deserves five stars. However, the service felt a bit uninterested and bored, which just kinda ruined the mood a bit. Therefore I can't give it five stars and I'll have to settle for four stars.
